Is the old web gone?

🙈 I grew up using a 56k modem to connect to the internet and I published my first website over 20 years ago on Geocities. 

So I have been online for a very long time, long enough to see the web transform from a semi-anonymous place to a big online shop where the user has become the product.

Oh my gosh... How was that possible? 😕
